Natural events have long conditioned daily life, including sun, light, heat. Even today, without light and heat, life would be impossible.

The end of the year is the beginning of a new cycle, we will welcome the WINTER and the NEW SUN in the Alaitz school.Having seen hours of light decrease six months ago, the “new days”, the winter solstice, have come.

The old sun (the Equifric) gradually weakens and attenuates to death, then the new sun will be born, which will begin to warm up towards the spring and bring new crops. It was what our ancestors celebrated, the birth of a new sun, the beginning of a new cycle. And to do so, an innovative and cleaner fire was set in every house.
